Corn and Forage Crop Meeting (North Haverhill)

New Hampshire corn and forage producers are invited to UNH Extension’s fall corn and forage crops meeting series. These meetings are specially designed for farmers growing corn and forage crops. Two sessions will be offered: Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UNH Extension Grafton County office in North Haverhill and Thursday, Nov. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stuart & John’s Sugar House in Westmoreland.

Each session includes a presentation by Bill Deen of the University of Guelph, Ontario on optimizing nitrogen fertility in corn and protecting soil health and yields with crop rotations. The event also includes a farmer panel, a discussion of the survey of weed seedbanks in Granite State cornfields, and an update on crop insurance from a local crop insurance representative. 2 pesticide applicator credits and 2.5 water quality training credits available.

The event is co-sponsored by the USDA Risk Management Agency.
