Educator Training Series: Biomechanical Engineering, Pandemic Response
In a world where we are more connected than ever, diseases can spread rapidly! You will become biomedical engineers as we explore how to prepare for outbreaks of highly contagious diseases. We will use the Engineering Design Process to design an antiviral to stop a newly discovered virus from infecting a model cell.
This is a fun and exciting introduction into the world of biomechanical engineering. The workshop is appropriate for adults and volunteers who work with youth in out-of-school time or classrooms. Content most appropriate for youth ages 5th-9th, but can be adapted as needed.
