Feeling Electric with 4H Discovery Club
What does electricity feel like? How do you work with electricity safely? Join us to find out!
With the Electronic Tingler Project, youth will follow detailed instructions to build a device that will increase the voltage of a typical 9 volt battery to a safe level that can be felt by anyone when they touch two copper electrodes. Youth will learn component identification, soldering techniques and basic electrical safety. When completed, youth, their family and friends will be able to safely experience what electricity actually feels like. It will also be useful to get the attention of any unsuspecting subjects!
Suitable for youth grades 8 - 12
Program runs on Tuesdays October 5 - 26, 4:00 - 6:00
