Free Webinar: Automated Calf Feeders and Calving Sensors
10:00am - 12:00pm
Join UNH Cooperative Extension educators and local dairy producers for a free webinar especially for New Hampshire dairy farmers. New Hampshire dairy farmers will present their experiences with automated calf feeders and calving sensors. There will also be a session on crop insurance updates from a USDA Risk Management Agency representative. Interested participants can join the webinar online at unh.zoom.us/j/719888303 or by phone by calling 646-876-9923 and entering ID number 719888303.
During the webinar’s first session, dairy producers from Boscawen’s Highway View Farm, Kensington’s Bodwell Dairy and Canterbury’s Sloping Acres Farm will discuss using automated calf feeders, including logistics, calf health issues, labor savings and other considerations. A crop insurance update will be presented during the second session. For the third session, UNH PhD student Kayla Aragona will discuss her research with the Moocall system, a calving sensor used at the university.
The workshop is presented in partnership with the USDA Risk Management Agency.
