Grafton and Coös County 4-H Fashion Revue and Textile Event
9:00am - 2:00pm
This event includes an opportunity for 4-H’ers to get feedback on their sewing, knitting and crocheting from judges. Items are pre-judged on construction and then at the event, youth model their garments and show off their textiles in a stage presentation while a script describing their item is read to the audience. Youth can submit sewn, knitted, or crocheted entries:
- Knitted & Crocheted Items - examples: scarf, potholder, headband, afghan, mittens, hat
- Garments - examples: skirt, dress, shorts, pants, sweater, vest
- Quilts - 24” and above
- Other Textiles - examples: aprons, stuffed animals, toys, pillows, wall hangings, pocketbook, sham, backpack
Fashion Selections offers an opportunity for 4-H’ers to shop for, select, and purchase one or more garment(s) then combine them with accessories or other garments from their current wardrobe to create a coordinated outfit to model for the judges at the event.
The newly created Sew Green award is a People’s Choice-type contest. 4-H’ers participating in this event will be given free GREEN material and asked to create something. With very few rules, youth can make whatever they want! Youth will bring entries to the event where they will be displayed. Adults and youth in attendance will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite item.
