Update

Due to the public health concern caused by the COVID-19 virus, UNH administration made the decision to cancel all UNH Cooperative Extension events, programs and noncredit classes through April 5. The health and safety of our staff and the many members of our New Hampshire communities that participate in our programs is most important. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this uncertain time.

The new date will be posted here as soon as possible.

About the Event

An Estate & Succession Planning Retreat for Women Farmers

This weekend program is a discussion-based workshop to connect women and subject-matter experts.  As they work through important discussions in the areas of business, estate, retirement and succession planning, women will find many opportunities for questions, sharing, and connecting with the presenters and other participants. It's a relaxed, fun and encouraging way to learn, and discuss one of the most difficult subjects that face farm women today.

Schedule of Topics

Succession Planning transfers knowledge, labor, management, and ownership over time.

  • Explore communication barriers that hold back succession planning
  • Understand the difference between fair and equal

Business Planning determines what makes up the farm business and names intentions for the future.

  • Understand why personal and farm finances are important for business management, succession, and retirement
  • Learn how a business plan can be used for farm business development and/or transition

  • Understand key estate planning terms, tools, and concepts
  • Begin assembling estate information
