Purple Up! for Military Kids Fisher Cats Baseball Game
Month of the Military Child - Help Us Celebrate! Date: Friday, April 27th, 2018
Children living in military families are resilient and take pride in their service to our Country. April, the Month of the Military Child, provides an opportunity for us to recognize and honor our youngest heroes, military children. In New Hampshire alone, there are nearly 5,200 military children.
For this year's Purple Up! celebration, please join us for the Fisher Cats baseball game at the Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester on Friday, April 27th, at 6:35pm. Let’s fill the Delta Dental Stadium with purple, so military youth in the stands will see our support! Organize co-workers, neighbors, community groups, your spiritual community, book club, Rotary, school children, kids in youth organizations, and youth sports teams to attend the game--and WEAR PURPLE! ALSO, we are pleased to announce Governor Sununu has accepted our inviation to attend the Fisher Cats game in honor of New Hampshire military kids.
In 2011, the University of NH Cooperative Extension 4-H Military Partnership started the initiative “Purple Up! for Military Kids” that quickly gained momentum and is now celebrated nation-wide. Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. It is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military; the combination of Army green, Marine red, and Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force Blue. This year we are asking schools, youth organizations, businesses, and others to Purple Up! on April 27th.
