SCA NH Nature Explorers (4-H After School Program)

Students will learn about the connections between animals, plants, and people as well as the systems behind all of the Earth's cycles. A partnership between The Student Conservation Associations New Hampshire AmeriCorps Program and UNH Cooperative Extension. 

Open to all youth in grades 3-5!

Details:

  • Topics include NH ecosystems & habitats, fur bearers of NH, animal tracks and scat, composting with worms, tree identification, song birds and birds of prey, animal adaptations, insects, watershed and the water cycle, food webs, amphibians, reptiles, and much more.
  • These interactive lessons introduce students to the nature of NH where they learn about and begin to appreciate the world around them. All lessons are hands-on, place-based, and interactive.
  • Every Wednesday from 4:00pm - 5:00pm on February 6th to April 10th at Barnstead Elementary School (91 Maple Street, Center Barnstead, NH 03225). This 9 week curriculum that incorporates NH State Science Standards and aims to foster connections between the students and the natural world.
