How to Build a Mousetrap Car

Getting Started is easy and mousetrap Cars are inexpensive to build

Teachers!  The 'Cats got the Mouse Challenge is a great STEM Activity that allows youth to explore the physics of motion though the Engineering Design process.  While ideally suited for upper elementary and Middle School grades, high school physics classes across the country build mousetrap Cars to better understand the physics of motion. The Mousetrap Challenge Resource Page has information on the Engineering Design Process and on the background science of Mousetrap Cars.

Parents!  The 'Cats got the Mouse Challenge is an easy activity to share with your child and friends, youth groups, etc.  The Mousetrap Challenge Resource Page has information on how to build a mousetrap car, how to make it go farther and a little of the science behind how they work.  Even if you don’t build a mousetrap car, still join us for the EXPO for STEM activities!

Even if you don’t build a mousetrap car, still join us for the EXPO of STEM activities for ALL ages! Everyone is welcome to participate in the UNH STEM Day Expo to explore dozens of STEM hands-on activities ranging from designing a banana piano to becoming a citizen scientist.
