Farms required to comply with the agricultural water portion of the Produce Safety Rule of FSMA will need to test their water. Initially the FDA identified one water test method (Method 1603) that all farms that need to comply with the rule would need to use. However, there are a limited number of labs who perform that test. In order to assist farms come into compliance with this section of the rule, the FDA has identified 8 tests they consider scientifically valid and at least equivalent to the method (Method 1603) of analysis in § 112.151(a) in accuracy, precision and sensitivity. This factsheet contains a complete, as of November 2017, list of water labs in New Hampshire that perform at least one of the 8 acceptable tests.
