Research Report: High tunnel pepper variety trial, 2015-2017

In the growing seasons of 2015-2017, we evaluated several varieties of greenhouse pepper varieties under unheated high tunnel production conditions. This work was done in Durham NH at the Agricultural Experiment Station’s Woodman Farm. We evaluated several yellow (Bentley, Early Sunsation, Moonset), orange (Orangela, Orange Blaze, Sympathy), and red colored bell pepper varieties (Felicitas, Sprinter, Karisma, Karma).

Our Objective: Compare performance of greenhouse and field pepper varieties for colored bell production in unheated high tunnels. In general, we produced very high quality fruit from all varieties in the high tunnel. There were minor differences in yields, but more significant differences in fruit size between varieties.  Access the full report for more details.
