Amanda Stone

Natural Resources & Land Conservation State Specialist

Amanda Stone has worked with UNH Extension since 1999. She has a Masters in Forest Hydrology from the University of Melbourne, Australia and a Bachelors in Environmental Science from Rhodes University in South Africa. Amanda provides technical assistance, guidance and facilitation to communities and conservation groups across the state on a variety of topics such as; natural resources inventories, land conservation planning, prioritizing and protecting natural resources, education and outreach planning, wetland evaluation, climate adaptation, and using NH’s Wildlife Action Plan through the Taking Action for Wildlife program. Amanda is the primary co-author of the Method for Inventorying and Evaluating Wetlands in New Hampshire and organizes the annual Saving Special Places Land Conservation Conference which attracts more than 300 participants each year. She also works with the NH Land Trust Coalition Outreach Committee to provide workshops and trainings for land trust professionals. Amanda serves on the Boards of the Five Rivers Conservation Trust and the Belknap Range Conservation Coalition.
