Community & Economic Development
Molly works with citizen volunteers and leaders to build resilient communities and a strong economy. This work is focused on revitalizing downtowns, retaining and growing business, enhancing quality of life and creating a vision for communities. She specializes in community engagement – bringing everyone into local decision-making - as a way to strengthen ideas, make change and build leadership.
At Extension, Molly has developed the Economic Profile and Retaining Local Business Programs to address the economic needs of NH communities and build their leadership. She teaches community and economic development skills. She initiated and teaches in the Community Engagement Academy designed to train a new generation of leaders in a board array of engagement tools. She is expert in community development practice including leadership development, needs assessment, engagement, action planning and evaluation.
Molly has worked with communities in New Hampshire for over 15 years. Prior to coming to New England, she specialized in the nonprofit sector focused on affordable housing, economic development and neighborhood revitalization in Ohio, Michigan and New York. She holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the State University of New York at Buffalo and was a Community Renaissance Fellow at Yale University.
