Join UNH Developing Interconnections for Regional Trails (DIRT) collaborators for a full-day workshop on funding opportunities and capacity-building strategies specific to New Hampshire trails and outdoor recreation related projects. This workshop will emphasize information and idea sharing between participants and will include presentations from grantors as well as grant recipients. Representatives (both volunteers and staff) from trail, recreation, and conservation organizations and departments of all sizes and scopes in are welcome to attend, whether you’re seeking $1,000 or $1,000,000. This event is appropriate for grant writing novices as well as full-time professionals.

Space is limited, so we request that each organization limit their registrants to 2 individuals. Additional spaces may be possible based on availability closer to the registration deadline. Event sign-in and a complimentary light breakfast will begin at 8:45 am, and presentations will start at 9 am. An informal, catered networking lunch will be followed by afternoon breakout tables, in which participants can connect with grantors and facilitators for guided work sessions.

Please note that an important aspect of the UNH DIRT project is ongoing research on collaboration and capacity building in trails and outdoor recreation projects (UNH IRB-FY2024-101). We kindly request that workshop participants share their insights and feedback after the workshop in a brief survey. Participants may also be invited to participate in an interview and/or follow-up survey. Participation in this research is voluntary and not a requirement of workshop participation.
