4-H Get Growing Gardening Workshop for Educators! (New Ipswich)

Get Growing! A workshop for educators looking to grow their knowledge and foster the same in their students.

Lots of times what’s holding us back from implementing engaging lessons is our lack of experience and expertise in a particular area.  This workshop is designed to bring volunteers and educators up to speed on the ins and outs of planting and maintaining a school or community garden, from deck planters on up to food forests.  The program will be a hands-on, minds-on learning lesson so leave your fancy clothes at home.  We’ll learn by doing, from plant basics, to soil assessment and amendment, to planting seeds to mature nursery stock.  And finally the aftercare concerns.  And while we’re doing this, I show you lessons you can use with your students as well.

This workshop is open to 4-H volunteers, formal and nonformal educators.
