New Hampshire 4-H Ambassador Program

The New Hampshire 4-H Ambassador Program is open to any New Hampshire teen between the ages of 14-18 years old.  The Ambassador Program will provide: 

💼Career & Academic Development Get “Beyond Ready” for college, jobs, and whatever comes next. Learn how to speak up, stand out, and show the world what you’ve got. 

🧠 Leadership Development Lead projects, work with other teens, and build confidence that lasts a lifetime. 

💚 Teach-Back/Give-Back Projects Use what you learn to help others. Make a difference in your school, club, or town.

Each Ambassador group will develop plans of action that are specific to their "spark" areas: Agriscience, Agroforestry, Community, Shooting Sports, and STEM.
 

Application,  letter of recommendation, and essay are due to kristen.lyons@unh.edu by December 20th.

2025-26 New Hampshire 4-H Ambassador Application

More Information:

  • Must be between the ages of 14-18 years old
  • Be available for in-person and virtual meetings
  • Have a desire to collaborate and learn from others
  • Willingness to prioritize 4-H Ambassadors as 4-H “project”
  • Shooting Sports Ambassadors will need to become certified in at least (1) discipline
  • Application submitted by email to Kristen.Lyons@unh.edu by December 20, 2025
  • (1) letter of recommendation required (volunteer, teacher or peer)
  • Provide a 1-2 page double-spaced essay answering the prompt below
  • Create a sense of belonging within the 4-H community
  • Be a positive peer role model to all New Hampshire 4-H youth and teens
  • Provide direct support to your local 4-H community and clubs
  • Engage visitors at NH Farm, Forest & Garden as a New Hampshire 4-H Ambassador
  • Develop personal and team goals to achieve throughout the year
  • Develop opportunities to widen your scope of knowledge within your chosen industry/interest

New Hampshire 4-H Ambassador Program Schedule

Ambassadors will meet as a NH 4-H Ambassador program as well as have youth-mentor guided opportunities that are specific to career, academic, leadership, and community action. These specific opportunities will be open to all Ambassadors. Individual goal-oriented mentorship is encouraged.
