Merrimack County 4-H Garden Clinic

Annually, Merrimack County 4-H hosts the Garden Clinic. This event features a new theme every year where youth learn how to grow something at home, and turn it into a product to use later on. This year’s theme is flowers!

*ONLY YOUTH WHO HAVE ATTENDED PART 1 ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND PART 2  OF THIS WORKSHOP SERIES!*

Part 1: Grow It!

Wednesday, March 20, 2024 starting at 6:30pm at the UNH Extension - Merrimack County Office (315 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303)

Cut flowers make beautiful arrangements, and also benefit the pollinators that come to our gardens. Donna Miller, UNH Cooperative Extension Master Gardner, will lead a workshop discussing how to select varieties of cut flowers, their growing preferences, and how to incorporate them into your garden. Participants will plant seeds during the workshop and take home more seeds to grow throughout the summer!

Part 2: Make it!

Wednesday, August 7, 2024 starting at 5:00pm at Petals in the Pines (126 Baptist Rd, Canterbury, NH 03224)

All participants from Part 1 are invited to Petals in the Pines to learn how to harvest cut flowers and create well-rounded arrangements while exploring the fields and learning about the pollinator population that visits them. The flowers grown at home can be used to enter a flower arrangement in the 4-H Exhibit Hall at the 2024 Hopkinton Fair.

Registration:

• Open to youth 5-18 years old.
• Register through 4HOnline by March 15, 2024.
