Hillsborough County 4-H Presents!

All Right, All Right, All Right!  Guess What Time it is?   That’s right 4-Her’s  - It's time for the Hillsborough County 4-H Presents! Activities Day Event.   This fun event is for 4-H members and Cloverbuds ages 5-18.  What is 4-H Presents you ask?    4-H Presents is an opportunity for 4-H youth to demonstrate their presentation skills and subject matter knowledge in a fun welcoming space. Every 4-H member is encouraged to give a presentation each year. A 4-H presentation can be a demonstration, action exhibit or public speech. Through presentations, youth learn to research a subject, organize their ideas into a logical order, and practice public speaking skills. There are also many other hands-on activities for the kids and families to participate in. There are opportunities for kids to enter individually or in teams so register today on 4-H online as the DEADLINE for certain categories is as early as March 22^nd!

Events at a Glance:

• Action Exhibit –Individuals, or teams of up to three, will present and interact with people throughout the morning. Members will answer questions and involve the public in the presentation of their exhibit.  An opportunity for youth to demonstrate the skills needed for talking in front of other people. 
•  Cloverbud Show & Tell - Cloverbuds using a poster or props talk about something they have learned. 
• Cloverbud Pet Rock Show & Tell - This is a great way for cloverbuds to have a first experience in communication and showmanship without having to come up with an idea completely on their own.
• Demonstrations or Illustrated Talk – A Demonstration is a know-how, show how, and tell how.  Explain what you are doing while you are doing it.  An Illustrated Talk is like a demonstration, except instead of working on something while speaking; you just talk and use a variety of visuals (pictures, posters, sample items) to help teach about the topic.  Individuals, or teams of up to three members may participate.
• NH 4_H Flix Video Contest - Videos can include contestant’s choice of music (royalty/copyright free) and video production techniques, including but not limited to; video footage, still photography, computer animation, stop motion animation, etc. Entries will be judged on creativity, flow, and technical performance. Contact the 4-H Office for video submission instructions.
• Public Speaking – an opportunity for youth to demonstrate the skills needed for talking in front of other people.
• Photography Contest– Each participant may submit TWO entries, based on a photo theme.
  • Entries themes are: NH at its Best, Open Category or 4-H Promotion. 
• Poster Contest – Each participant may submit ONE entry based on a poster theme. 
  • Entry themes are: 4-H Citizenship, 4-H Promotion, 4-H Healthy Living, or 4-H Science.
• STEMonstration - Science, Technology, Engineering or Math Demonstration is an opportunity for members to share with others the wonders of STEM in an educational means of show-and-tell-type presentation or by the use of experiments, props, or visual aids (posters, items, artifacts.)  
• Tabletop Presentation - A tabletop presentation is a tri-fold display that teaches about something that you have learned or something you have done. Visual aids or props must be included.
• Textile, Quilts, and Fiber Arts Showcase - This showcase is to highlight 4-H members and Cloverbuds creative talents in quilting, knitting, crocheting, felting, weaving and sewing items that aren’t garments.  Garments that are created by sewing, knitting, crocheting or weaving are entered in Fashion Revue.  Deadline to drop of all items to be judged must be on or before March 22^nd, 2024 by 5pm. 

Please Note The Following Age Divisions:

• Cloverbuds: age 5-7 by 1/1 of current year
• Juniors: age 8-10 by 1/1 of current year
• Intermediates: age 11-13 by 1/1 of current year
• Seniors: age 14 & older by 1/1 of current year
