4-H Babysitters Training Course for Youth 12 & older in Rockingham and Strafford County
The 4-H Babysitters Training Course is for you if you are interested in taking care of younger children, be a mother's helper or the go-to neighborhood babysitter. Get familiar with child development, nutrition, safety & First Aid and earn your Certificate of Completion.
The 4-H Babysitters Training Course teaches youth ages 12 and older what they need to know to be caring, trustworthy, responsible and competent babysitters. The course includes units on:
- Safety
- First Aid
- Child Development
- Nutrition
- Entertaining Children
- Business of Babysitting
Length and dates of each course depend on the location it will be held at. Total duration of the course is about 8 hours. It's mandatory to attend ALL sessions.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from UNH Extension and 4-H.
4-H Babysitters Training Course for Youth 12 & older
The 4-H Babysitting Course, currently being offered by Rockingham County 4-H and Strafford County 4-H, offers youth the opportunity to learn the basics of babysitting including topic areas such as child development, entertaining children, safety guidelines, nutrition, the principles of positive discipline, and more. Upon completion of this course, adolescents become UNH Extension / 4-H - certified babysitters.
They will be able to take on the exciting challenge of caring for children and gaining work experience with a family or at an afterschool program, library or community center. Contact your county's 4-H Program Manager at your county's UNH Extension office for course inquiries and dates.
