Starting on May 6, 2022, on Friday evenings from 6-8pm, Port City Makerspace is opening the doors of their workshops to 4-H for “Tinker Times”. 4-H families are welcome and encouraged to stop in and work on any 4-H STEM or Maker projects you are working on, or even personal projects!
For Spring 2022, we are working on building trebuchets in 4-H. On July 17, there will be a county-wide trebuchet competition to see which team can launch the furthest projectile and the most accurate projectile, and who can build the most team-oriented design. Tinker Times is the perfect time for your team to work on building your trebuchet together!
This Spring, we are also offering Bike Maintenance Tinker Times, so your family can circumvent the bike shops’ wait times and tune up your bikes for the season. Learn how to replace and grease a chain, replace and inflate a bike tube, tighten brakes, and more. The first Bike Tinker Time is planned for May 13.
You can always float in with ANY project during ANY 4-H Tinker Time to work on it. PCMS always has knowledgeable personnel on hand to support whatever you are making.
