4-H Flight Path is an aviation program that engages youth in learning about model aircraft and free flight. Beginning with simple balsawood model airplane construction and progressing to more complex stick and tissue builds, participants will learn the
fundamentals of wooden airplane models and can compete in regional competitions to achieve maximum time aloft. Along the way, 4-H Flight Path teaches technical building skills and helps youth develop a deeper understanding of the science of flight.
The 4-H Flight Path program is looking for volunteer leaders!
The 4-H Flight Path program is growing, and we are seeking enthusiastic adults to help lead programs and flight clubs across the state. No aviation or model-building experience is necessary — just a passion for sharing the excitement of flight and STEM with young people!
Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn balsa airplane building and free-flight techniques, and will receive ongoing support from 4-H staff throughout the program.
