What is a barn quilt? A barn quilt is a large piece of wood painted to look like a quilt block and hung on the interior/exterior of a barn. Most barn quilts are made of solid colors and comprised of simple geometric shapes such as squares, rectangles, and triangles.

What is the 4-H Barn Quilt Challenge? 4-H members are challenged to create a barn quilt to help beautify the Belknap County Fairgrounds.

Join the Winnisquam Whinnies in the Cow Barn at the Belknap County Fairgrounds for a Barn Quilt Clinic! Register for the clinic in 4-H online and is required. Space is limited to 40 participants.

Participants should bring 3-5 colors of their choice of craft paint to complete this project. Clinic attendees will be provided a 12x12" project board to learn how to make a personal sized barn quilt. There will be tape and quilt shapes to use to crest your pattern, among other supplies such as pencils, markers, rulers, etc.

Instructions will be given to participants for them to return to their club to create a club-sized barn quilt to display during the Belknap County Fair.
