4-H Youth Shooting Sports Program | Androscoggin Valley Fish & Game Association

Androscoggin Valley Fish and Game Association is proud to sponsor FREE 4-H Youth Shooting Sports programs throughout the summer. 

Programs will be held Sunday evenings starting June 22 from 5:00PM-7:00PM for youth ages 10-18. Registration is required through ZSuite and space is limited to 12 youth per session.

Youth Rifle - 3-day course | June 22, 29 & July 6

You will join 4-H shooting sports instructors in rifle shooting. During this course you will learn the basics of firearms safety and marksmanship. Learn to tighten your skills and groups, through instruction and healthy competition. All firearms and ammunition will be provided by instructors.

Youth Archery - 3-day course | July 13, 20, 27

This three-day course explores the sport of archery with 4-H shooting sports instructors. Throughout this event, you will learn the basics of safety and form to get you on target while shooting traditional targets as well as 3D. Bows and Arrows will be made available to participants. Personal equipment welcomed on case-by-case basis and once inspected by volunteers.

Youth Shotgun and Trap Shooting - 3-day course | August 3, 10, 17

 You will join 4-H shooting sports instructors to learn shotgun techniques as we explore the basics of firearms safety, shotgun marksmanship, while breaking clays trap shooting. This instructional course is designed for beginners, and novice shooters to learn the fundamentals of safety, form, and the fun of aerial shooting with shotguns. All firearms and Ammunition will be provided by instructors.
