This two-part workshop covers everything from understanding cost of production to the laws, rules, and regulations for selling firewood. Designed for farmers, landowners, and homesteaders, this is a great opportunity to investigate adding an enterprise to your farm. If you are doing field edge restoration, sugar bush maintenance, or just looking to heat your own home using wood from your land, this is the right course for you! The first session features enterprise budgeting for firewood, understanding return on investment, a firewood market overview, laws/rules/regulations for selling firewood, and an outdoor session on selecting and measuring trees.
The second part of this workshop will be a field day focusing on hands-on skills along with some demonstrations. The agenda and sessions for this workshop will be based on what the participants from session 1 are wanting to learn; we are looking forward to co-creating the second session with you!
