4-H Flight Path (a parent/guardian and youth 4-H program)

For: ages 10 and up with a parent or guardian, youth 12 and older may attend on their own if desired

Join us for this four-week model airplane program. This four-week Flight Path program teaches participants to build and fly balsa wood model aircraft. Youth, and parents/guardians, will build a different craft each session, including a simple glider and a rubber band propelled airplane. Everyone will learn basic construction techniques and a bit about trimming model planes for optimum flight. Each session will end with a round of flying and some friendly competition. Participants should have a little bit of patience, and some basic crafting or tinkering skills such as measuring, cutting and gluing. There will be limited exposure to hobby knives and technical adhesives.

4-H Flight Path is an aviation program that seeks to engage families in learning about model aircraft and free flight. From learning to build simple model airplanes to ultimately making complex models and competing in regional competitions to achieve a maximum time aloft, 4-H Flight Path teaches technical building skills and helps youth develop an understanding of the science of flight.

ENTRANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Enter by the main office, off Rt. 109, follow the road down and then go left to the Burrow building by the end of the field (Fair Midway).
