SHOW INFORMATION

REGISTRATION:

Staying Overnight: Participants are encouraged to camp with household members on the grounds (indicate on your entry form). Camping will be by county grouping as close to stabling areas as possible. Any exhibitor leaving the grounds at night must designate an animal care person who will be on the grounds and provide an emergency contact phone number.

Exhibitors (Riders/Drivers/In-Hand): This show is open to NH 4-H members 10-18 years old on January 1 who have been selected by their county as a delegate or alternate; if your county does not have a selection process or you were unable to attend, get approval from your county and complete the readiness form. All must enter by deadline; delegates must include fees, and alternates will pay upon arrival at show if they participate. No post entries accepted.
Horse sharing will be allowed at the State 4-H Horse Show. There is no entry fee discount or stabling discount for members sharing a horse. Members must be part of the same county delegation (if members are from two different counties, they will need to choose which one to stable with/camp with during the show). In-hand horses may be shared by three members.

Entry Fee: Accepting credit cards, cash, checks or money orders. An entry fee of $100.00 for each horse-exhibitor combination and $15.00 for each stable manager is necessary to help cover show costs. Entry fees are due with entries. Seniors showing two horses will pay two entry fees. Make check or money order payable as directed by your county to the county or UNH Cooperative Extension. No refunds of entry fees unless notified in writing via email to hannah.majewski@unh.edu at least 48 hours before opening of the show that the member will not participate. Those entering up to two additional classes in a second division pay a $12 per class entry fee. Enter and pay at the show. A limited number of scholarships are available for those unable to pay. Show Cover Design Contest

Every year the NH 4-H Horse Program hosts the State 4-H Horse Show Cover Design contest. This design is featured on the cover of the show book and is used on State 4-H Horse Show apparel and promotional items. All NH 4-H members may enter; enrollment in the horse project is not required. Each member may enter up to two designs. Designs are due by April 13, 2026 via email (preferred) to Ashley.Youngheim@unh.edu or mailed to the NH State 4-H Office (do not fold) to NH 4-H Program – Cover Design Contest, c/o Hannah Majewski, 129 Main St, Kendall Hall UNH Rm 313, Durham, NH 03824. Late arriving submissions will not be eligible for consideration. Voting will be anonymous, but by people’s choice (watch for announcements in April). A prize will be presented at the awards ceremony of the State 4-H Horse Show.

The designs submitted become the property of the New Hampshire 4-H Horse program and by submission of a design authorization is given to use the designs in program promotion. Label entries with name, age, club, and county of the 4-H member submitting and submit on or before April 13, 2026.

Design Criteria: The design should fit on an 8 ½ x 11” plain unlined piece of white paper. Hand drawn or digitally generated designs are acceptable. The design should be a high contrast black and white design. DO NOT use pencil. Pencil does not produce a design with a high enough contrast. The design should reflect the total 4-H horse program & not be specific to one breed or riding style. The 4-H Emblem or clover must be used in the design and must follow these rules: (A) The 4-H emblem must always appear as a whole and complete emblem. The 4-H emblem cannot be changed in any way. No text or image may be placed over any part of the 4-H emblem. The clover must be upright and not tipped. (B) The submitting member must print their name, age, club, and county on the back of the page or on a separate attached sheet of paper such as a sticky note. (C) No copyrighted material may be included. Designs must be original; tracing another person’s work is not acceptable. Non-copyrighted (fair use) clip art may be used for components of the design. (D) Designs must be flat, one-dimensional designs.
