Topics will include management of a mature tall spindle orchard with many varieties, establishment of a new tall spindle orchard, equipment investments including a working/harvesting platform and hedger for tall spindle canopy management, upright fruiting offshoot (UFO) trained trees, and barn renovation/cold storage expansion. UPDATE - Three additional topics have been added and include using a "nibble approach" to chemical thinning with multiple PGR applications, pruning young and mature tall spindle apple trees, and tips and tricks for using ReTain for harvest management and stop drop.
Stone Mountain Farm will host our Harvest Celebration Dinner for 2026. Please plan to stick around for this and bring your crews to celebrate with us.
The educational program will run from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., followed by a meal to celebrate the season, along with an awards and recognition ceremony to recognize some very deserving individuals. This portion of the evening will run from 7:00 until approximately 8:00 p.m.
