Scam Detective Workshop & Breakfast to Help Frontline Professionals Support Clients and Prevent Fraud
Designed for social workers, case managers, nonprofit staff, healthcare professionals, and other helping professionals, the workshop will focus on helping participants recognize common scams and fraud schemes that affect the clients they serve.
As more services and communications move online, many clients face increased risks from phishing emails, text message scams, impersonation schemes, and other forms of fraud. This interactive workshop will provide practical information and strategies that professionals can use to help clients stay safe and access trusted resources.The program will begin with an overview of current scam and fraud trends presented by Detective Derek Ibell of the Nashua Police Department, followed by an interactive workshop facilitated by Scott Slattery, UNH Cooperative Extension Field Specialist in Hillsborough County. Participants will work through real-world examples, identify warning signs, and discuss approaches for helping clients recognize and avoid scams.
Attendees will also learn about local digital literacy resources, including Digital Navigator services and digital literacy classes available through the Nashua Public Library.
