The AYHC Symposium presents an opportunity for adult and student leaders in the youth horse industry to learn, network, share ideas and grow as an industry. The AYHC Symposium is a 3-day conference is an educational and leadership opportunity, where 4-H youth and adult staff and volunteers learn and share information on equine health, welfare, and industry trends. Participants have an opportunity to tour farms and see equine related demonstrations.

Applications open the winter of the upcoming event.
- Applicants must be 15 years old as of January 1 of the current year and have been in at least their 3rd year as a 4-H member.
- Submit an application checklist, a cover letter, a resume and a 2-3 minute video sharing why you would like to go to the AYHC Symposium to 4-H Field Specialist mary.davis@unh.edu.
Chosen participants will travel with 4-H advisors from New Hampshire. All trip logistics will be handled by the NH 4-H State office from airport to lodging and return. Participants will be responsible for transportation to and from the airport, as well as any meals outside of meals provided at the conference. All COVID-19 protocols dictated by the American Youth Horse Council, and NH 4-H will be abided by. Current protocols can be found here.
There is a $300 Family Contribution required for all National Award trip attendees, but this is not intended to be a barrier for participation. Please contact 4-H Field Specialist mary.davis @unh.edu should this fee present a challenge.
