Over a series of months, we worked with the Hopkinton, New Hampshire community on how to better connect its trails with its business center, the Village of Contoocook.

A Steering Committee of dedicated volunteers were trained on how to collect spatial data using ArcGIS Field Maps mobile application, interview and survey local residents and visitors on their uses and impressions of Contoocook Village, local trails, and the 22 characteristics that are critical to assess and understand when connecting downtowns and trails. The final report details the unique relationship between the community's local trails and its downtown, outlines the assessment process, provides an analysis of the data collected, recommendations and next steps for the community.

Also available is a 2-page report summary outlinine the Hopkinton-Contoocook and UNH Extension partnership, the Downtowns & Trails program process, and the resulting key findings and recommended action items to the community.
