Held on August 16, 2019, at Cornish Fair

We had twenty youth entries in the first year King Arthur Flour Baking Contest hosted by the Sullivan County 4-H at Cornish Fair 2019.  This was a great show for a first year contest!!  The rules were simple: the contestant must use King Arthur Flour, bringing along the opened bag or the UPC from the bag used, provide a copy of the recipe and submit the baked item on a paper plate in a clear food storage bag for judging.  The baked item this year was to include zucchini in some form (who doesn't have an abundance?) and we chose a nut-free zucchini bread, with the contestant choosing their own recipe. Not required to be a 4-H Member, it was open to ANY youth aged 8-18. How fun is THAT to do!!!  King Arthur Flour awared three prizes of gift certificates to kingarthurflour.com.

Our first place winner, Cheyenne T. of Meriden, shared her recipe for Chocolate Layered Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread.

A recipe for Lemon Zucchini Bread claimed second prize.  A red rosette is proudly displayed by Karter T. of Claremont along with his entry.

If you hadn't known anyone who entered this year, consider sharing your baking skills with youth between ages 8-18.  Imagine how exciting it will be to enter next year!
