Dan Birnstihl will be a familiar face on New Hampshire farms soon, as he collects information on client educational needs and implements applied on-farm research.
Dan comes to Extension with a strong background in agriculture and most recently was the Director of Agricultural Operations at Hip Peas Farm in Hooksett, NH where he designed and managed the 5.5 acre micro-farm. Dan is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a B.S. in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems.
As a farmer, he has been a strong partner with Extension, and has been the recipient of multiple grants for farm development and independent research. He has a rich and varied background with experience as a Military mechanic, barista and yoga teacher.
“We’re thrilled to have Dan as part of our team,” says Amy Papineau, Food & Agriculture Program Team Leader. “He brings real-world experience, innovation and connections with the agricultural community.”
