• NACDEP Awards 2021

Once again, UNH Cooperative Extension had a strong presence at this year’s National Association for Community Development Extension Professionals (NACDEP) Conference. New Hampshire served as the host for the conference last year.

NACDEP is an organization dedicated to improving the visibility, coordination, professional status and resource base of community and economic development Extension programs and professionals.

Seven members of the Community and Economic Development Team presented at this year’s conference and Extension took home five awards, including two national runner-up awards. The conference’s awards recognize outstanding work, accomplishments relative to scholarly and creative activities, teaching and/or research effectiveness and evidence or collaboration with others who help meet community development needs. UNH received the following:

1.  Excellence in Community Development Programming, Northeast Regional Winner and National Runner Up—Gearing up for Grant Writing Workshop Series. Jared Reynolds and Stephen Meno.

2.  Educational Materials, Northeast Regional Winner and National Runner Up—COVID-19 Response Newsletter: Resources for Communities & Businesses. Casey Porter, Molly Shanahan, Charlie French, Molly Donovan, Shannon Rogers, Sue Cagle, Stephen Meno, Jared Reynolds, and Penelope Whitman.

3.  Excellence in Teamwork—Northeast Regional Winner: Moving Online: Changing the Venue for NACDEP's 2020 National Conference. UNHCE Community and Economic Development Team, and collaborators from across the country, including Adam Hodges (WV State), Brian Raison (OSU), Susan Kelly (NC State), Melinda Grismer (Purdue), and Laura Brown (UConn).

4.  Excellence in Teamwork, National Award Winner. Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities. Jared Reynolds, Stephen Meno, and over 20 collaborators from across the country.
