greg hufford

The New Hampshire 4-H team is excited to welcome Greg Hufford to the Carroll County Extension team as the new 4-H Program Manager. Prior to joining UNH, Greg worked with 826 Boston—a youth writing and publishing organization. During his tenure, he created opportunities for youth to hone their science communication skills, share science stories with their communities, and grow as leaders.  Greg is excited to draw on passion and skill in storytelling to help build community and foster personal growth for Carroll County youth and families.

Greg holds an MS in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines, and—before a recent career switch—also worked as a Geologist to help companies discover precious minerals. In addition to working with 826 Boston, Greg utilized his environmental science background to support a variety of environmental education efforts in New Hampshire.

In his free time, Greg loves to explore the outdoors, paint, and play guitar. He thinks rocks are pretty cool, and can often be found in the woods inspecting them with his magnifying glass.

When not out in the field recruiting new 4-H volunteers and engaging with Carroll County youth and families, Greg can be found in the Carroll County Extension Office in Conway, NH. Reach out and say hello! Gregory.hufford@unh.edu
