Fact:  One in six Americans are affected by food poisoning every year!

With 4-H Food Shows and Cook Offs scheduled throughout the winter months, making sure 4-H youth understand the four basic steps to food safety is a top priority for these 4-H events.

The 4-H Healthy Living Program is pleased to share 4 Basic Steps to Food Safety:  4-H Training for Food Events. Extension Field Specialist Ann Hamilton presented at the 2017 4-H Volunteer Forum on this important foods and nutrition topic.  The video provides an easy, assessable way for volunteers to teach food safety to youth participants preparing them for a safe, healthy experience.
