Michele Kroll has joined UNH Extension’s Youth & Family Resiliency Area of Expertise Team and is based out of the Sullivan County Office. Kroll comes to UNH from the University of Missouri Extension where she worked since 1991 for both the 4-H and Community and Economic Development program areas. She is also conducting research to complete a doctorate in learning technologies and design.
"I’m thrilled to be joining UNH’s Cooperative Extension. I'm looking forward to building collaborations and partnerships with local communities to create comprehensive and innovative health and wellness education opportunities,” said Kroll. Among her responsibilities will be projects focused on the health of New Hampshire’s aging population.
“I'm excited to join local UNH staff and community members where they bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to improve everyday lives of New Hampshirites. I look forward to bringing Extension experience to this position as well as learning technology and design to provide enriching and engaging ways of reaching as many people as possible in Sullivan County," she added.
Extension’s resiliency work includes programming, training, technical assistance and facilitation to support youth, adults, families and communities. This requires working with community organizations, coalitions and educators to create environments where New Hampshire residents can thrive.
Kroll will use her cross-disciplinary experience to help Extension continue to understand and address the challenges that rural communities face with accessing mental health care and healthy living resources.
