Produce Safety Alliance Announces Online Grower Training

Carrots on a table

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule § 112.22(c) requires ‘At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.’

Due to the public health concerns surrounding COVID-19, the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) is offering an online version of this course which is required for farms that are fully covered under FSMA.  The course may also be of interest to farms that are not fully covered but want to ensure they are following food safe practices.

Instead of the one day in-person class, this online version is a self-paced three-week course. Benefits of this extended timeframe include allowing participants time to digest the content topic-by-topic.

The cost for this course is $150 with the coupon code “VIRTUAL20”.  After July 31, the price will go up to $450.

If you are not sure whether or not you need this course please visit our FSMA Produce Safety Online Tool or contact a member of our FSMA team.
