Plant a row in Grafton County this summer to support our community.

The Plant A Row initiative exists in different forms and under various names across the nation. It is a hands-on way to increase the amount of fresh produce at food pantries for those in need. Plant A Row encourages individuals to grow an extra row or an extra garden container to increase the produce raised. The extra items harvested are then available for donation to food pantries or neighbors in need. Plant A Row participants have the opportunity to explore gardening, observe how vegetables grow, experience different growing conditions, gain an understanding of food insecurity, and understand how to access and support local food pantries. Plan to plant a row this summer in support of this cause.

Harvested produce can be dropped off at the UNH Extension Office once a month during the peak of the growing season. 4-H staff members will work with local food pantries and organizations to see that items are donated to those in need.
