UNH Extension is pleased to welcome aboard Angela Balamuth as project coordinator for the NH Opioid Prevention Project — a two-year, grant-funded initiative awarded to UNH Extension from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Balamuth’s role as coordinator will be a new addition to the Youth & Family Resiliency team. Melissa Lee, who is serving as project director, will be Balamuth’s supervisor and Balamuth will be based out of Extension’s Merrimack County office.
Balamuth previously worked as the program manager and coalition coordinator for a federally-funded community substance misuse coalition in NH before taking time off to start her family. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion from Plymouth State University in 2014 and is most passionate about fostering and creating healthy communities. Balamuth brings with her direct experience in building community partnerships, youth engagement and knowledge of prevention science. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading and doing all things arts and crafts.

Her ability to manage and juggle a variety of project tasks as well as her experience and knowledge in the substance misuse prevention field are a great combination of skills that will benefit and strengthen our collaborative work.”
