4-H vermicomposting is an educational program, that teaches young people about using earthworms to turn organic waste into nutrient-rich compost. It provides a hands-on way to learn about ecology, community, and decomposition, with curricula that can be adapted for various ages and settings. The program benefits both youth and the environment by providing a valuable soil amendment and demonstrating sustainable waste management. Come learn from 4-H Ag in the Classroom Instructor Mike Smith as he teaches you and your family the practical skills of creating a functional and suitable environment for worms, and how they recycle food and yard waste into high-quality soil amendment called worm castings. The programs uses the worm bin as a model to teach about ecological systems, including producers consumers, and decomposers while being able to reduce waste and producing nutrient-rich material that improves soil health and plant growth. Although some supplies are available you are strongly encouraged to bring your own bin, and starter soil, and worms.  Register on Zsuites Today!
