The Rockingham County 4-H Horse Program is supported by dedicated 4-H volunteers and the Rockingham County Horse Leaders Association (RCHLA). The RCHLA is made up of 4-H horse project leaders from all over Rockingham County. They meet the third Tuesday of the month and coordinate all horse programs and events for the county. Through their support 4-H members can participate in many activities and events throughout the year.

  • Horse Quiz Bowl, Judging, and Hippology: These are knowledge-based competitions for all members interested in horses.
  • County Circuit Horse Shows: These 4-H horse shows are held three times a year with an annual banquet held in December. The shows are open to 4-H members and non-members alike.
  • Rockingham County Horse Show: This show is held annually in June and is open to both rider and non-rider 4-H members.
