This event has been cancelled. Please check back for a rescheduled date.
Join UNH Cooperative Extension's Wendy Scribner (Carroll County Forester) and Tree Farmers Becky Knowles and Jim Coogan for a leisurely walk with a focus on winter tree identification. We'll examine branching, buds, and bark while the leaves are off the trees, and discuss how each species functions as habitat for wildlife. We'll also try to identify animal tracks we find along the way. Dress for the weather and come prepared with spikes or snowshoes.
Becky and Jim's Notch View Farm encompasses over 100 acres and includes fields, wetlands, and a diverse forest. We'll walk along the network of trails they maintain for walking, skiing and snowshoeing. This workshop will be entirely outdoors and includes a very slow-paced walk over easy to moderate terrain with many stops for discussion.
No cost. Space is limited and registration is required.
If you need an accommodation to participate in our programming, please contact Mikayla Cerney at email@example.com or 603-447-3834 prior to the event.
