4-H Shooting Sports is an active project with a curriculum designed to assist young people in personal development and in exploring life-long vocational and leisure activities. New Hampshire 4-H Shooting Sports offers five disciplines: archery, black powder, rifle, pistol, and shotgun.  Each discipline teaches safety, concentration, self-discipline, self-confidence, goal setting, and decision making as the youth learn basic skills and build toward more advanced activities.

Volunteers wishing to support youth in this program, must first be a screened 4-H volunteer and obtain their National 4-H Shooting Sports Primer Certification before taking this Instructor Training course to earn certification in a discipline.

4-H volunteers in this course can expect to spend time in the classroom and on the shooting range learning risk management as well as practices to teach hands-on techniques to youth.

Space in this course is limited. Register in ZSuite by March 19.

The Instructor Handbook for this course is $10*. Payment may be made the day of the event.

*A fee is charged for this Extension program to cover costs. A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals unable to pay.

If you need an accommodation to participate in our programming, please contact Shannon MacKay, Shannon.MacKay@unh.edu, 603-788-4961 prior to the event.  Given ample time, we will make any reasonable effort to meet your needs, including language access services if requested, which will be provided free of charge.
