For: 4-H Volunteers and those interested in sharing STEM with kids
Cost: No Cost, lunch is included
Join 4-H Staff and STEM volunteers for a tour of the White Mountain Science Inc. (WMSI) makerspace in Littleton, STEM teaching workshops and conversation about how we engage youth in STEM. This event is for anyone interested in sharing a love of science with youth and is sponsored by the 4-H STEM CoLAB, a group of 4-H volunteers with a goal of sustaining and supporting a thriving community of STEM enthusiasts, mentors and teachers of 4-H youth.
Our morning session will explore understanding youth audiences, and how to take our own interest in science to spark an interest in science in youth. We’ll break for lunch and tour the WMSI Makerspace, and then we’ll work with WMSI staff to explore youth engagement in STEM using LittleBits, magnetic circuit kits, and other ways to put the "aha" in front of all learners.

What is the 4-H STEM CoLAB?
The 4-H STEM CoLAB (Community of Learning And Belonging) is a community of like-minded volunteers who gather and learn together about what makes kids tick and how best to engage them in science learning. After training, members become mentors and teachers of STEM programs for 4-H youth. Time commitment is variable and can range from a few hours per month to a few hours per week. Please refer the 4-H STEM CoLAB section of the 4-H Volunteer webpage for more details on participation requirements and expectations.
