Workshop summary   Learn to use your mobile device (smartphone, tablet) to collect data in the field and make a map on your computer! Whether you want to use your smartphone to make maps for fun or for work, this workshop is for you. This class starts with a review of the most capable mapping apps available for iOS and Android. We then get outdoors to learn how to collect data using using a mobile device. Once finished, each participant learn how to export from their mobile device to make an online map. Finally, we will learn how to upload data to the mobile device from a computer. No previous experience with specific apps is required, although familiarity with mobile devices (iOS or Android) is strongly suggested.
