Young children thrive when their physical, social, and emotional needs are met. We partner with Early Care and Education providers and caregivers to offer practical tools and strategies that promote healthy eating, active play, gardening experiences, and strong social-emotional skills. Our whole-child approach integrates nutrition, physical activity, and social-emotional learning to help children build lifelong habits for well-being.
We also support Early Care and Education staff in their own wellness through training, technical assistance, and resources that strengthen healthy practices in their programs. Caregivers receive direct education, access to online resources, and family-focused guidance that encourages wellness at home. UNH Extension’s Health & Well-Being Team works to improve life for people across New Hampshire by providing high-quality programming and fostering community connections that support the well-being of all.
