UNH Cooperative Extension will host a series of all-day training workshops in February 2019 for those seeking a supervisory registration certificate - general use from the state’s Division of Pesticide Control. Individuals wishing to obtain this certification need to participate in a series of training classes, pass a written and oral exam, and show proof of insurance.

Training will prepare participants for the state of NH certification exam. Instructors will provide a review of the information found in the National Pesticide Applicator Certification Core Manual and NH Code of Administrative Rules during the Core class. Trainings will be offered for the following categories: Ornamental (G1), Turf (G2), Forestry (C1) and Right Of Way (B).

New Hampshire requires that anyone applying pesticides commercially must be certified as a commercial pesticide applicator. This certification is required regardless of whether the applicator gets paid for the service or the pesticide is classified as general or restricted use. This includes over-the-counter homeowner-type pesticides.

Cost: $150 per day. For those who need it, there is an additional cost for study materials, which participants are required to purchase and read prior to attending the sessions.

Registration is now open.

Training dates are as follows:

February 13, 2019 - Core Training

February 14, 2019 - G2 Turf

February 15, 2019  - B Right of Way

February  18, 2019 - G1 Ornamental

February 19, 2019 - C1 Forestry
