Join us for a fun day of learning for 4-H horse members ages 8 and older!  Activities planned for the day will include:  Equitation riding lesson, instruction on in-hand suitability & obstacle courses, coaching on what a judge is looking in the class, and Fit & Show showmanship skills.  All participants must bring their own horse to participate.

NOTE: Enrolled cloverbuds age 5-7 may participate if they are directly supervised 1 on 1 by a screened leader or adult familiar with horses and MUST be led by the same whenever mounted.

*There will be no "horseless" activities at this event.  We will hold a separate event for horseless members.

  • Registration starts at 8:30 AM.
  • In hand and riding classes will run concurrently so sharing a horse between those classes will not be possible. Sharing between classes 1, 2, 3 or 4 is a possibility as they are run one after the other but NOT within any one class.
  • There are no holds between classes for tack changes.
  • Bring a lunch, food will not be available on the grounds.
  • Bring your own water, there will be no water on the grounds for horses other than the river.
  • If a horse is coming from out of state proof of negative coggins is required.
  • Safe, heeled shoes/boots and an ASTM Certified helmet is required to be worn by all participants.

Cost: $10 entry fee for each horse/handler combination.  You can pay the fee (check only) at the event or mail it in advance to Cheshire County 4-H, 12 Court Street, Keene NH 03431. Make checks payable to Cheshire Horse Leaders Association.
