The Maple Symposium is designed for educators new to sugaring looking to get started with tapping trees as part of their curriculum and experienced sugaring teachers looking for new ideas to expand what they do within the school and out in the community. We will have industry experts, veteran teachers across all grade levels, and our in-house experts.
The Symposium will include a tour of Gilford Elementary School’s state-of-the-art sugar shack. Workshops during the Symposium will include discussions on tapping with three different age groups (Elementary, Middle, and High School), The Life of a Maple tree, How to do your maple analytics properly (so you can get it right!), and Going beyond the classroom.
Registration is open to the first 20 Elementary School Teachers, 20 Middle School Teachers, and 20 High School Teachers.
4-H Volunteers are welcome to attend this training to bring the maple project back to their clubs.
$20 registration fee (A maple-themed lunch will be included.)
Professional Development Hours Certificate will be available for all registered participants.
