The Plainfield Conservation Commission would like to announce an open invitation to their program, "How to Identify and Manage Invasive Species", a talk with Dode Gladders to take place on Thursday, March 27, 6 p.m. at the Meriden Library Community Room, 22 Bean Road in Meriden.
Our Sullivan County Extension Forester, Dode Gladders, will discuss current forest health challenges in our area, with a focus on non-native plants. The talk with cover the challenges posed by invasive plants, proper identification of some invasives commonly seen in Plainfield, and management options. The presentation will also touch on a handful of insect, disease, and other issues that are top-tier forest health concerns in northern New England.
